LIC Recruitment 2013 for 5201 Apprentice Development Officer(ADO) Vacancies


LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) does not need any introduction as it is the oldest & most popular public sector Insurance company in India. LIC currently has over 2000 branches that are spread across 8 zones across country.


Life Insurance Corporation has announced a huge recruitment of total 5201 ADO posts. ADO Stands for Apprentice development Officers.
ADO is mainly a sales supervision job and requires recruiting and training agents and help them in selling life insurance to maximum number of persons. They may also need to travel within an area allotted to them for carrying out some tasks.
Initially, an ADO is paid around Rs. 19165/Month. After appointment as Probationary Development Officer, it gets increased to around Rs. 22065/Month (Scale of 77535 - 28565 / Month).

  • Central Zone - 349 Posts
    • Divisions - Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalur, Raipur, Satna, Shahdo, Bilaspur
  • East Central Zone - 564 Posts
    • Divisions - Begusarai, Behrampur, Bhagalpur, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Hazaribaugh, Muzaffarpur, Patna I, Patna II and Sambalpur, Jamshedpur.
  • North Central Zone - 569 Posts
    • Divisions - Agra, Aligarh, Allahabad, Bareily, Dehradun, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Haldwani, Kanpur, Lucknow, Merut , Varanasi.
  • East Zone - 669 Posts

Important Dates

Payment of fees and Online Registration : Till Dec 22, 2012,
Online Exam on - Feb 2 - 3, 2013
Online exam admit card - From Jan 20, 2013

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age to be 21- 30 yrs as on 01.11.2012 (Age Limit relaxed as 5 - SC/ST, 3 - OBC, 10 - PWD),
  • Educational Qualification is Graduate degree in any discipline. Although not required, Relevant experience would be preferred.

Selection Procedure

  • There will be two online tests of total 2 hrs duration. One for Reasoning/Numerical Ability and Other for GK/Current Affairs/English.
  • There will be negative marking and Qualifying each paper separately is required to move to next phase, Interview.
  • Combined performance in Interview and Online test will decide final selection list.
  • Finally selected candidates will sign a bond of 4 years worth Rs. 25000.

Application Procedure

  • The fee is Nil for SC/ST and Rs. 500 for all others. To be paid by automated generated challan after applying online.
  • To apply, visit given page and fill your personal details and submit. After application is submit succeSsfully, fee payment challan will be generated that will be used to pay fee any State Bank of India Branch from 3rd day of application (If you apply on 1st, then you may submit fee from 3rd of the month).
  • After 2 days of payment, a confirmation SMS/E-mail will be received stating successful submission of application.
  • Take reprint of application form from 3rd day onwards, keep a copy for future use.
